We closely monitor the entire production process, from planting to harvesting, to ensure consistent quality by providing farmers with quality input seeds and enabling them with improved farming practices, thereby enhancing the productivity and yield of their harvest.
We add value to the harvested seed from farms by transforming it to marketable seed via our seed processing unit. Harvested seed passes through following processing stages to convert it into high quality uniform sized seeds –
Receiving and Inspection: Incoming seed lots are visually inspected and sampled to assess their quality and condition. Any damaged or contaminated seeds are removed or segregated at this stage
Cleaning and Grading: Seeds are cleaned to remove impurities such as dirt, plant debris, other foreign materials and graded to remove undersized and oversized grains to ensure uniformity within seed lots. This is usually done using equipment such as seed graders, gravity separators, and indented cylinders, which employ various methods like sieving, aspiration, and screening to process the seed.
Seed Treatment: Seeds may be treated with fungicides, insecticides, or other crop protection products to control diseases, pests, or seed-borne pathogens. Treatments are applied using specialized equipment that ensures uniform coverage and adherence to safety regulations.
Packaging: Cleaned, conditioned, and treated seeds are packaged into bags, containers, or bulk shipments, depending on customer requirements and the intended market.
Labeling and Documentation: Each seed lot is labeled with essential information such as crop species, variety, purity, germination rate, treatment applied, and expiration date.
Quality Control: Throughout the entire process, quality control measures are implemented to ensure that seeds meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. Samples are regularly tested for purity, germination rate, moisture content, and seed health to maintain product quality and integrity.
Storage and Distribution: Packaged seeds are stored in controlled environments to maintain their viability and quality until they are shipped to customers or distribution centres.
Documentation and Traceability: Comprehensive records are maintained to track each seed lot’s origin, processing history, and distribution. This ensures traceability and accountability throughout the supply chain and facilitates product recall procedures if necessary.
